Present in Today

I stand here in today,

At crossroads between my past and my future.

I stand in the present,

I stand in today.

I choose to be present here and now, Present in today.

I live behind my past,

Filled with worries, regrets, pain and shame.

I live behind dreams unfulfilled, mistakes made and things I can’t change.

I choose to be here, present in today,

Filled with hope that my future will be better.

I choose not to worry about tomorrow, or what it has in store,

For here in the present, here in my today,

My worries cannot change tomorrow or what God has said will be.

They cannot make tomorrow bend to my demands.

I can however enjoy today, and live my life to the fullest,

Glorifying God with each breath I take.

Tomorrow has its own concerns,

None of which have business in today.

So, I choose to be present in today, present here and now,

Taking in each moment, noticing new things He brings my way,

To prepare me for tomorrow

And what the future holds.

I choose to be present in today,

Where I can serve God using all He has blessed my life with,

Closing doors on my painful past,

Building on what has been,

Yet filled with hope for what will be.

I choose to be present here and now
